It was decided months ago that the Department of Immigration and Nationality must move out of its current office location. And tonight, the Government is reporting that this transition is now taking place, but it will interrupt normal services for about a week.
A government press release says that the between next week Tuesday and Next Week Friday, the Immigration Department and the Refugee Department will relocate from their Dry Creek Street and Market Square addresses. These 2 departments will be moving into their new office space on Mountain View Boulevard in Belmopan.
During that time, limited services will be available at the district office and the border stations. You'll not be able to get any services at the Belmopan office, but the Ministry of Immigration expects that things will return to normal on Monday, December 18 at the new office.
The Ministry says that every effort will be made to respond to requests for emergency services.
