A husband and wife were taken to court today - charged for beating a 6 year child so badly that her injuries were classified as wounding. 31 year old police constable Tony Gamboa and his common-law wife, 23 year old Aricia Gentle, were charged with wounding when they appeared today before Magistrate Michelle Trapp. The allegation is that in November Gamboa beat a 6 year old female child and caused a wound to her. And then, on Sunday December third, Gentle allegedly beat the same child and caused another wound.
Today in court, they pled not guilty to the charge. They were offered bail of $4000 dollars each, which they met. Their bail was offered on the condition that they do not interfere with the child, or go within 100 feet of her. Their case was adjourned until February 8.
