New Fire Truck For Caulker
posted (December 7, 2017)
Caye Caulker Village has a much needed new fire truck. It was donated by American James York of Beechwold Christian Church, from Columbus, Ohio.

The truck has a 1,000 gallon capacity tank, and is capable of discharging water at 150 pounds per square inch. It was shipped to Belize with the assistance of the US Air Force, and it was officially handed over to the Government last night.

Those in attendance included NEMO Minister Edmond Castro, Caye Caulker's Chairlady, Enelda Rosado; Caye Caulker's Officer in Charge for the National Fire Service, Miguel Matus; and the donor, James York. The Government says says that the donation came through the personal efforts of Miguel Matus.

He made the request to James York back in 2013, when they first met. A few of the fire trucks currently in operation are over 4 decades old.
