A New Book On Ageing
posted (December 13, 2017)

Today, the National Council on Ageing launched a book of short stories which they have been working on since 2009. It's called StoryTime, and its objective was give senior citizens an opportunity to interact with children between the ages of 6-11.

Since then, the project has evolved to the point where a group of children from those age ranges have been filmed dramatizing the stories, along with live reading sessions of older persons sharing these stories with their young audiences.

The NCA says that this was "an effort to encourage inter-generational activities, and re-establish the older person's role as a source of knowledge.

We stopped by at the the Image Art Factory today and found out more from the Executive Director told us:

A total of fourteen episodes of StoryTime have filmed and released. The intention is to air it on national television. Proceeds of the book's sales will be used to fund projects for the National Council on Ageing
