Owner of SUV Reported It Stolen Shortly After It Was Found With Drugs
posted (December 21, 2017)
The owner of the Lincoln Navigator which crashed into the gate at the Customs Department with 5 kilos of cocaine in a hidden compartment says his vehicle was stolen.

Belize City resident Bruce Faber reported to police that his vehicle was stolen - and he did that about 10 minutes after the SUV crashed into the customs fence. Actually, he didn't make the report his "washman" did. Police explained today:

ACP Joseph Myvette, NCIB
"A suspect is still being sought in regards to the drugs found in the Lincoln Navigator. He has not been found since."

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"Registered owner of the vehicle is Dwight Faber of a Belize City address. Has this person been found?"

ACP Joseph Myvette, NCIB
"Yes he has been questioned in regards to his vehicle."

Reporter
"Did he make an official police report that his vehicle was stolen and when if you can say that actually happened?"

ACP Joseph Myvette, NCIB
"An official report was made the same day in questioned when the vehicle was intercepted, but it was not made by him, it was made by the owner of the place where his car was sent to be washed. However, Mr. Faber has since been interviewed in regards to this investigation."

Of course, we should note that the alleged car thief just happened to steal an SUV with a hydraulically controlled hidden compartment - just perfect for stowing six kilos of cocaine.

Police are still looking for the driver of the SUV.
