Worries Mount For Missing Man
posted (December 27, 2017)

There a few more serious but non-fatal accidents to report tonight, but first to the reports of two missing persons.

On Monday, families all over the country came together to spend Christmas with each other but for the family and friends of Jamal Humes, it was a blue Christmas because he is missing. His mom along with her support team have been tirelessly searching for him but one week has gone by and they still have not found him or any of his belongings. His mom spoke to us this morning about her missing son. The police also shared some information about their ongoing investigation.

Sharlene Nicholas - Mother of Missing

“The last time I personally saw my son was on Tuesday morning right here at my home. Jamal did not live with me but every morning religiously Jamal will come here from his house. He lives on Faber’s Road. He would come here from his house to take a shower, eat, whatever hang out with me if I am not working he will be here with me hanging out. My daughter saw him last here on Wednesday morning at about minutes to seven or a little bit after seven he was here with my daughter. That was the last time a family member saw him alive.â€￾                                             Â

“The information that we gathered when we spoke to his friends is that he was out by Faber's road at a Chinese shop drinking. According to them when we questioned them they said yes Jamal was out there with them drinking sometime after 8. Jamal received a phone call. When Jamal received the phone call Jamal just walked off coming towards the boulevard not going home.â€￾

“Why they have him hold or why anybody would want to harm my son. I would like to know. If they did something to him please all I want is closure. I cannot spend the rest of my life worrying if my son is hungry, sick or suffering. Whether dead or alive at this point I want to know where my son is. I need my son to be home. Whatever happened to him. I need my son to be home.â€￾

ASP Alejandro Cowo â€" OC, CIB Belize City

“He is a person of dark complexion. About 5 feet 9 inches in height, slim built, black hair with Mohawk style. He was last seen wearing a faded sky blue jeans pants, a blue in colour t-shirt, and a pair of Jordan tennis black in colour. So far the police have received a lot of information about this person whereabouts. We have verified and conducted several searches within Belize City. Up to now, the searches have been fruitless.â€￾

The police continue to investigate the matter. If you know anything about the whereabouts of Humes you can contact the family at 632-6314 or 600-7612. A $3,000 reward is also being offered to anyone that can find him.
