Likely Drug Plane Found Burnt Off Coastal Road
posted (January 2, 2018)
Police got quite a New Year's Eve surprise when they found the burnt remains of what is most likely a drug plane off the Coastal Road. Rural cops found the wreckage on the 31st after 12:00 in the afternoon. In an official release it states it was a twin engine King Air Beach Craft. Now we have reported on countless abandoned and burnt planes. And, given that this one was found near an illegal airstrip - it's almost certainly some high level drug operation - since that's the standard practice to land, offload, and then burn the evidence. But the police can't say for sure what happened since nothing illegal was found in the area. Here's more.

ACP Joseph Myvette, Head National Crimes Investigation
"A joint team of police and BDF responded to an information some 2 miles in a road off the coastal road where they found the burnt remains of an aircraft in the vicinity of an illegal airstrip. Initial investigation reveal that the brunt remains seem to have been there for several days. Police investigation along with BDF and civil aviation into this matter continues."

Reporter
"Nothing was found in the area to suggest drugs?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"No, the entire area was searched and no other items were found other than the aircraft."

Reporter
"Have you been able to establish the origination of the aircraft yet?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"No, neither the origination, neither when it came, whether or not it had any cargo or whether or not the cargo was destined for somewhere else we have not established none of those."

It is believed that this aircraft was moved from the illegal airstrip and burnt nearby. As you heard nothing incriminating was found in the area.
