Search Intensifies for Missing Jamal
posted (January 4, 2018)
Jamal Humes has been missing for 16 days now. After tireless search efforts, his family still has not found him. Today his mother and the search party leader Jose Espat held a press conference to share some promising leads and request assistance from the public.

Jose Espat, Search Party Leader
"We moved on as well based on tips and so forth. After canvassing we learnt a lot about Jamal. We learnt he was not any person of trouble. We learnt that he used to do mechanics and he would often go out at any hours of the night to help anyone. We also found that he used to work for the police and he used to work at the mechanic shop beside LI-Chee. He worked for the police almost five years. We also came across Information that Jamal was a witness in a murder that occurred five years ago on Faber's road and that is a very key point in the investigation. I cannot go into details of the matter because the police are dining their investigation as well. We also have another lead that I will not go into details right now. Those are the two motives we are looking at presently and going on."

"We did a preliminary search of the dyke right across the street. We had a search party going to the search. We had the police as well. We searched three ponds and nothing again so we kept pleading to the citizens to hand in any information they can and it would anonymously be used. Based on further canvassing that we did we also received some texts and so forth. One of the texts told me to check by the other side of the dyke so we did a search with the family and the police. We had the CIB and the Canine unit come out as well. We went to the Jane usher part of the dyke where we did a thorough search of the area leading all the way up to the plantation. We did not find any evidence. No blood or expended shells telling us that Jamal was there. There were several little areas of interest but we could not go into detail at the time because we did not have any tools at the moment. Moving on from there we went to a location which I will not disclose at this moment because this is a location of height interest. We believe Jamal is there based on information and eyewitnesses that have come forward anonymously. We believe that Jamal is located in this place and this place has a vast area of swamps and ponds and information is telling us more than likely he is there so this is where we will be searching next. We have scheduled it for this Sunday at 9 am. We will all meet here at this same Chinese and go to the location."

"I want to use this medium to reach out the canine unit again and the Coast guard. We will defiantly need their help to dive these ponds. It is very deep. It is not murky water but it is very deep and we don't know what's there. We want to ask the public for some serious assistance because we will need a big search party. Ideally would be a hundred persons."

"There are a lot of other incidents happening. I don't want to disclose details, as well as one of his own friends, came to the search we had for him with his Jordan tennis on with Jamal's Jordan tennis on. This was verified by both by Ms. Sharlene and his girlfriend and then the police took that into their hands. I believe they took the young man in for questioning and I don't know what happened after that."

Sharlene Humes, Mother
"Jamal did not harm anybody or hurt anybody. I never one day had to have a call from the police where Jamal was in any trouble. He was a loving wonderful son. He was my only son guys. That was my only son."

If you would like to join the search it leaves from the pink Chinese store on Faber's Road Extension at 9 AM and if you have any information about Humes you can contact Espat at 6245809.
