Nelson Henry, Free After Ex Cop Witness Refuses To Cooperate
posted (January 24, 2018)
Nelson Henry has gotten off a 2011 broad daylight murder in a trial without jury. The prosecution's case fell apart because the main witness - a former woman police constable was hostile and refused to cooperate with the prosecutor, Janelle Tillett.

When the murder happened she gave police a statement saying it was Henry who opened fire on Edward Lord Jr., killing him on the spot. This morning, she took the stand for a second time, but every time a question was put to her, she said she did not remember. She denied ever giving her statement, ever signing a statement, and denied also that a signature seen on the statement was hers.

Prosecutor Tillett then tried to make an application to get a dock identification of the accused, but Judge Lucas rejected that.

With that, Crown Counsel Tillett was forced to close her case and Judge Lucas found Henry not guilty of murder and set him free.

Henry has been on bail from September of 2017 when the prosecution's case began to fall apart.
