The Government today signed a multi-million dollar contract to pave 10 miles of the George Price Highway from Roaring Creek to Blackman Eddie. Minister of Works, Rene Montero had details at the signing:

"Section 2 commences just a few meters before the gas station in Roaring Creek Village and goes about 100 meters pass the community center in Blackman Eddy Village. This contract is being signed between the Ministry of Works and Ticrobs and Sons Limited in the amount of $20,540,823.19. It is expected that this project will create over 100 jobs and it will commence immediately and will take approximately 18 months for completion."
This is section 2 of the project. Section I includes the replacement of the Roaring Creek Bridge.
The project is supervised by British Firm IMC Worldwide and funds were obtained through a loan from the InterAmerican Development Bank, a grant from the European Union - Caribbean Investment Facility (CIF), and the Government of Belize.
