So, we went to UDP Senator Michael Peyrefitte for a response, since he’s the Attorney General, and a sitting member of the Senate.
And he wasn’t too kind to his senate colleagues on the Opposition side. Here’s how he insisted that the Government has not run a red light with the Finance and Audit Reform Act:

"Listen there is a practical reason for the delay in bringing the appropriations budget. You cannot know in certain instances, you don't budget for a hurricane from year to year for example. You don't budget for hurricane so if a hurricane occurs or a hurricane comes close enough that causes damage you have to immediately come to the rescue of the people in need and then when that is done you do an appropriations budget to cover the expenses of taking care of people. Those things cannot be completed in a day, in a week or in a month. The PUP were trying for a got ya moment yesterday, the 5 or 6 or so PUP Senators they were trying to accomplish a got ya moment by bringing in the financial secretary to have him explain what happened and the financial secretary without divulging what happened in the committee meeting explained fully the reason for this. When we left the Senate everybody was satisfied with the explanation, the financial secretary even told him if you want further explanation on the issues then clearly you can always go to him and he will give you that explanation. I am the Attorney General and a Senator just like them, not one of them called me during the 10 days to say Mr. Attorney General you know I've looked at this finance and audit act, in your legal opinion can we sit with your people, can we talk to some crown council to see if any law was broken for example if they had that question. A press conference is all about grand standing and trying anything to make it seem like there is some impropriety.”
