"He had just come into town from San Pedro where he was being held in relation to Paul Jex."

"He was living with a female and that is the address or area that he usually frequent and because of his name being called out or after his release from San Pedro police in regards to the investigation of Mr. Paul Jex that he came to Belize and that might have led to him fatally shot is a possibility."

"He was a well-known street figure here in Belize City and everyone knows who he associates with."

"I saw a female being taken away in handcuffs on the scene. Was this the female that she was with and was she questioned?"

"Yes I believe that was the female who was in the company of Mr. Velasquez when he was shot. Yes she was questioned and interviewed and everything."

"You agree that it's irregular to take away a grieving girlfriend or spouse at a murder scene. It was unusual it seemed to me."

"She was there along with the male person when he was shot."

"They took her away in handcuffs."

"Because of the wat that she was behaving and threaten to cause injury to the officers who were dealing with her."

Jex's girlfriend was released but police have made no headway with the investigation.

"I know that we had 2 persons in custody. We have interviewed them. However, we did not get anything much from them, so we had to release them after the 48 hours was up."

"It had happened in broad daylight, but it happened in a hot area. Is there corporation from eye witnesses?"

"We have no cooperation out there. We are working on information that we have been receiving and we are dealing with that."
