And while Velasquez was a gang rival for Paul Jex - he was considered an ally to Alfredo Cowo - who was executed in San Pedro on January 16th.
As we told you last week, police have been looking at a new suspect - and investigating the possibility that William Body - who has already been charged and remanded - was not the killer.
Cowo discussed it today:...

"Is another suspect being actively sought or looked at or detained?"

"Yes, police are reviewing other surveillance cameras in that area and at a farther distance and at this moment we are looking for two other persons who can help us in this investigation."

"Mr. Godoy's family has steadfastly maintained that he had an alibi that he wasn't there, etc… Might a situation emerge or evolve where the charge is lifted from him if these other suspects are caught?"
ASP Alejandro Cowo
"Well as I told you, we are looking at the two male suspects, two other suspects and if whenever they come into custody, depends on what they have to say then we will see how the investigation will go."

"These 2 male suspects reportedly, the one who pulled the trigger was brought to the scene by someone with links to law enforcement on the island. Is that something that you are aware of - a father-in-law of a prominent police officer?"
ASP Alejandro Cowo
"Well we know who is the father-in-law and up to now it is not that person that is appearing on the footages that we have. If he was the one, he would have been detained a long time."

"But it's not him."
Island Police continue to look for these suspects.
