Andy Wigmore - his name may not be known much inside Belize - but he's been using Belize's name a whole lot over the past few years. British press reports say that he was pulled over this weekend when he was found pretending to be a diplomat. He was stopped on January 19th allegedly using illegal diplomatic plates and carrying an expired diplomatic ID card.
Press reports say Wigmore was later detained. He held diplomatic status for Belize until 2017, when it was revoked. Wigmore claims he was unaware his license plates had been decommissioned.'
Wigmore's works with the BREXIT campaign - and has long aligned himself with the political right - while hobnobbing with Belizean glitterati.
