77 Year Old Man Ran Into Bulldozer

It was our headline last night and tonight more is known about a 77 year old man was killed in an accident yesterday evening. George Young was heading back to his Burrell Boom home when he slammed into a bulldozer about a mile and a half pass the dumpsite on the Boom-Hattieille road. Courtney Weatherburne has more.

George Young lived alone in his Burrell Boom home for years. His neighbors say he would sometimes walk his dog in the village and head back home – a calm and routine life.

But Young's peaceful life ended yesterday evening after he collided with a bulldozer. Young was driving his RAV 4 from Hattieville to his Burrell Boom home while Anselm Gillett was heading in the opposite direction in his bulldozer. According to the police report, Young swerved unto the left lane and rammed into the bulldozer. It was a massive impact and Young died on the spot.

"Mr. Young get into an accident he said and right away I went but the police already had him in the pickup and the vehicle was damaged bad."

No one knows what caused Young to veer unto the left lane but he is gone now and his friends and family have to cope with his tragic loss.

Young leaves behind two children who live in the US.

The truck driver, 47 year old Anselm Gillett didn't receive any injuries. He was served with a notice of intended prosecution and urine samples were taken from him.
