Green Gets Off, Again
posted (January 30, 2018)
24 year-old Kendale Green, a resident of the Antelope Street Extension in Belize City, has been freed of criminal charges connected a shooting which happened last year.

The victim, Margaret Ramirez, was shot in August. A few days later, police were quick to detain him and charged him with wounding and use of deadly means of harm. Well today, 5 months later, Green went back before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford. The prosecutor informed the court that he was was instructed by a directive from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to withdraw the charges. With that he was free to go.

This is Green's second set of charges that he has been freed of. In 2010, he was arrested and charged with the murder of the taxi driver, Francis Chukwu, when he was only 17 years old. He was acquitted in a trial after a confession statement he gave to police was not admitted into evidence. The main witness also testified that she couldn't remember what happened on the day of the murder of the taxi-man.
