And another target of President Trump's ire is the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA program.
Many Belizeans have benefitted from the program which allowed some individuals who entered the country as minors and had either entered or remained in the country illegally, to receive a renewable two-year period of deferred action from deportation and to be eligible for a work permit.

"We have several Belizeans, including one that actually went to the State of the Union addressed last night and that is only one of many. Are we going to see people being sent back to their original country? Should we be concerned with this as well?"

"I think the president was very clear that he wants to work with Congress for a solution and so I cannot predict what that solution will be but he offered a way forward on DACA as well."
