Corozal Robbers Roughed Up Storeowners
posted (February 9, 2018)
3 brutal robbers ran off with $10,000 in cash and cell phones from a Corozal Chinese store. It happened at Rong's Supermarket on 4th Avenue in Corozal Town shortly after 3:30 yesterday afternoon.

Surveillance video captured by the store's security cameras shows the entire assault from when the three robbers, two of them armed, arrived at the store. Two of them violently forced the male and female storeowners into submission, pistol whipping, kicking and punching them, all at gunpoint.

And while they did that one of the robbers went behind the counter loaded up the money from the cash register.

All told, it took about four minutes.

Police say that the female storeowner, 47 year old Hong Su Rong, confirmed that the robber behind the counter took $7,000 in cash, and two cell phones - all to a total of $10,000.

Police are trying to identify the three men in the video, although their faces are covered by their caps. Several have been detained for questioning.
