Corozalito Cannabis Cultivator

24 year-old Ronnie Rivera, a farmer of Corzalito Village, is staring down a 10 thousand-dollar fine after being taken to court for the cultivation of cannabis plants - and he only had two of them! He was 1 of 7 persons the police charged with the offense

Rivera was busted this morning at around 5:30. That's when police went to his Corzalito home and searched his property. The cops found 2 cannabis plants growing Inside an old refrigerator lying down in his yard, They arrested him and 6 others who were at the house. The cops charged everyone with cannabis cultivation.

They were all arraigned today before Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer, and Rivera accepted guilt. He told the courts that the plants were his.

Chief Magistrate Frazer sentenced him to pay a fine of $10,000 by March 31. If he defaults he will have to spend 3 years in prison.

The charge against the other 6 were then withdrawn, and they were allowed to go home.
