City Council Celebrates
posted (February 9, 2018)
Just in time for the election, the fourth City Council BTL park fest is being held this Saturday. This year's fest promises tons of fun, plus the added adrenaline of politicians trying to get a feelgood moment before the election. So, first off, entry is free for all. And that's only for starters. The Belize City Council's public relations officer told us more.

Shane Williams, Belize City Council Public Relations Officer
"6 to 8 is for the children. After 8 we will have the longest firework show you have ever seen and at 9 o' clock the adult show starts with a whole line up of star-studded entertainment. We have Supa G, Ernestine, Marilyn Vansen. We TY, NXT dancers, Nello player and at the end of the night we will have Baby Cham and Cecile."

"The BTL is a park is symbolic because it represents what we want in the city. A partnership between the private sector, public sector, the residents, and all the community involved so the BTL park fest is not a celebration of the park itself but the symbolism that the park represents."

Baby Cham, Cecile, and Ernestine are the most highly anticipated performers for Saturday night so they gave us a little teaser of what they will be bringing to the stage tomorrow.

Baby Cham, Performer
"FIrst of all we are having a free concert here so we expect that everyone should get out of their homes and come and enjoy their selves. Every time I come here it is always special for me. Every performance that I have done here has been one the Belizean fans always remember. It is a fiesta and a joy ride."

Cecile, Performer
"You know when I am here I have to call on my favourite DJs to run through the list because the list is long and sometimes they have some songs here that I myself don't even know. People are already telling me on Instagram what they want to hear. I have to go practice some of them. That what happens every time I come here. I have a long long list. Yea I am going to give them everything."

Ernestine Carballo, Performer
"Come out tomorrow and you will see. I don't want to give anything away. I am so happy this is my first concert of 2018. I am honoured. It is nothing about niceness. I can't give it away I will be with a band and my entire team will be on stage so come out."

The entertainment starts at 6 tomorrow at the BTL Park.
