A 25 year old tourist has reported that she was raped by her Belizean chaperone in San Pedro. It happened around 1:00 yesterday at the residence where the American woman was had been staying with a family.
Apparently, she had been out socializing with the chaperone in a group and she asked him to take them home because he was intoxicated.
She said that she was sleeping in the house - when she was awakened by bodily force. The man who had been chaperoning her was raping her. She cried out for help and he ran off. Police have him detained pending an ID parade and charges.
