Around 2:00 this afternoon, there was a home invasion at a house on Morning Glory Street in the St. Martin's area of Belize City - and it ended up with a senior citizen being stabbed.
Reports say two men climbed on the verandah of the house and entered through an open door. The men stabbed a 77-year-old man who was in the house and took a phone and cash. Fortunately he was only injured to the hand.
Upon hearing one of the residents calling the police they fled the scene and left the knife in a bucket of water. There were three other people in the house at the time. The money stolen was a small sum. The police responded to the scene and continue to investigate.
