The marches in the city - and all across the country were scheduled so that there wouldn't be interaction between rival UDP and PUP supporters. And, indeed, there were no reports of political violence. But we did pick up a few incidents of note.
First, when the PUP were marching, the UDP's Alonso Noble was parked on the side of the street capturing them on his cell phone. Well, when the crowd saw him, that got them all hyped up. But then one of the well-known supporters jumped unto his pickup - and Noble had to push him off. Police came to stand to protect him, and that's when the crowd started throwing empty bottles at him and crowding the truck. But, fortunately, it didn't escalate beyond that - and a few hundred obscene words and gestures. To end it off, well known rabble rouser PULU Musa did a dance for him - which ended it off the little scene on a humorous note.
Undaunted, Noble kept capturing throughout.
