That is quite a case in Orange Walk - but we turn now back to the city - where the killing of two men and the shooting of another wasn't the end of violence in the city last night.
Three hours after that double murder, at 10:15, a gunman pulled up on a crowd of men on Police Street and opened fire. He let off with multiple shots, and when the smoke cleared three men were injured. Cell phone video captured at the scene shows the desperate moments when one of the injured men was being put in the back of a pickup truck and rushed to the Hospital. Police told us more:

"Police were called to a shooting incident at police street and as a result they proceeded to the hospital where they observed two male persons suffering from apparent gunshot wound to their bodies. The first person police observed was Houston Apolonio - he had a graze at his upper shoulder, right shoulder and he was treated and discharged last night. The other male person that suffered injuries is Mr. Emerson Garnett. He received three gunshots to the body. He is admitted in a critical condition at this moment. What we understand so far is that two of them were socializing at police street when a male person rode on bicycle and from a distance fired several shots at their direction. as a result there was another civilian in the area who upon seeing what was happening took out his firearm and fired a shot at the male person that did the shooting. Police processed that area likewise and found several expended shells at the scene."

As you heard, someone seeing what was happening responded with his own gunfire targeting the assailants. Turns out he's an off duty police officer. Cowo told us more:..

"That person there, he was in the area when the incident happened and he took out his service issued weapon and he fired a shot in the area."

"We have been made to understand that as many as 15 shots were fired in that area during that incident last night. Can you confirm based on the number of shells recovered?"

"Police recovered 10 expended shells from that scene"
Emerson Garnett remains admitted in a critical condition. His family declined comment today.
There have been 6 murders countrywide since last week Friday and also 6 non fatal shootings since then.
