Philloughby to the Rescue
posted (February 22, 2018)

One person who was not complaining about the fire department's performance was city councillor Phillip Willougby. He was on the scene last night, and back again this morning. We spoke to him about the disaster response for the victims.

Phillip Willoughby - City Councillor
"I'm sorry for the residence who suffered the lost, I'm sorry for the residence who live in the immediate surroundings who were affected by the loss of electricity, probably affected by the national fire service doing their jobs the issue of water being sprayed across the other properties and that so I feel for those who are affected in that way. We will be working with the affected families  and we hope that we can try to assist along the way of returning them to some semblance of normalcy. Thank you to the national fire service, whilst we lost two structures, we know that the other remaining structure is in near proximity to the origin of the fire were saved and we had our fingers crossed last night whilst we were out there hoping that the fire wouldn't catch to the other structures so we were extremely blessed last night that didn't happen."
