Sarawee Water Woes
posted (February 27, 2018)
As we told you, it hit the Sarawee community hard when well-known bar owner Humphrey Mitchel died on Saturday. He allegedly jumped out of the pan of a moving police vehicle. But the residents are also plagued by a water crisis - one they have been struggling with for years. Yesterday Sarawee Chairman told us more about their plight.

Derrington Ramirez, Chairman, Sarawee Village
"A lot of people started to digging wells, going back to the old fashion way and we are very concerned about these wells because we have a lot of kids and not only the kids that are living in the yard where the well is built but kids come around to play with the other kids so we are very concerned about these wells being built in the community. I am not a plumber and I have no funds to do the system that what they are telling me that we need a whole water system now I can't tell you what that means but what I can tell you there is no water in no pipe around here."

"We haven't reached out to anyone they reached out to us, they came to us because I had posted on facebook our crisis, they came to us they had trucks doing some work around here by the reservoir and it came to a halt and I haven't heard anything since and that is almost 8 months now."

As you heard, not much work has been done to fix this problem in the village.
