Gibnut Street Home Up In Flames
posted (March 1, 2018)

Last night around 8:30 the one story plycem home of Monique Dawson on the corner of Curassow and Gibnut Street was burnt to the ground. At the time Dawson was in the home sleeping with her daughter. They managed to make it out unharmed but the Fire Department investigation so far is pointing to a possible arson.

Orin Smith - Station Officer, National Fire Service
"The fire investigation revealed the fire originated from the North West bedroom of the structure. At the time the incident occurred we had a mother and her child at home who was asleep at the time. They are unharmed as a result of the fire. The structure was destroyed. The structure no at the time there was no electricity at the time."

Sahar Vasquez
"The family is saying it might be arson from one of the members that live in the house. Have you guys hear that?"

Orin Smith
"We have heard that. I have heard two version of the story and I have also uncovered certain things that are yet to be tested and draw final causes."

Reporter
"Is there anything that you have ruled out, that probably has caused it? Electricity has definitely been ruled out, the unattended stove has definitely been ruled out, I have not found any evidence of the use of candles. One lane was in the house but it was not in the location where the fire originated so all those things have been ruled out."

Orin Smith
"I can't rule out Arson as yet nor can I rule out the possibility of an accident or a fire involving children. As I said before we are still testing the hypothesis that we had and will draw a final hypothesis after that."

Dawson lived in the house with seven others. The fire department continues to investigate.
