We also asked the Minister about how he missed that National Police Awards Ceremony on Saturday night - here's what he said about why he couldn't make it:
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
"I apologize to the commissioner again. He informed me late. I will blame the commissioner, and I apologize at the same time, but I already had a commitment in relation to that event, and I sent my apologies."
Jules Vasquez:
"But is there trouble in Paradise? Both you and the CEO didn't go."
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
"That is a huge award ceremony. We don't miss events like that. The CEO was here this morning. The Prime minister was here this morning. We don't miss events like that. And so, I received little notice of the award ceremony, and I extended my apologies."
Jules Vasquez:
"And the CEO?"
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
"You would have to ask the CEO. She received it, I think the same day we had been notified of it."
Jules Vasquez:
"So there must be, when invitation get send late, they don't want you to go."
Kareem Musa, Minister of Home Affairs
"You end the interview where you started trying to create unnecessary friction when there's none."
